2012 Scholarship Award Winners

PHILLIP ZAHARAS is a 25 year old resident of Casper, Wyoming and is attending Rocky Mountain College. He is a student member of WAPA. Prior to attending PA school, he was a certified pharmacy tech and a Certified Nursing Assistant. Through his determination, persistence and motivation, he is in the top 10% of his class and it is noted by the director of his program that he is "an outstanding clinician with a great bedside manner, tremendous energy and enthusiasm." He plans to return to Wyoming to practice medicine upon completion of his studies.

 

JAMES HUTCHISON is currently attending University of New England in Portland ME. He is a resident of Lander, Wyoming. Prior to attending PA school, he was an instructor for the Wilderness Medicine Institute of NOlS and was active in the local Search and Rescue team. When he decided to go back to school to pursue training as a PA, he knew that this would afford him the opportunity to take his foundation in wilderness medicine further. He plans to return to Wyoming to practice after completion of his studies.


KERRY STRIKE is a resident of Cody, Wyoming and is attending Rocky Mountain Col1ege in Billings. Prior to starting PA school she was active in her community, working with Habitat for Humanity, Crisis intervention and Park County library fundraising. As a single mother of three, she returned to school to create a better life for her children.
