President's Message
Greetings fellow WAPA members!
I am honored to serve as the next Wyoming Association of Physician Assistants president. I would like to challenge all of you to help make our great organization the best Wyoming has seen.
WAPA has been responsible for enacting new laws for prescribing, practicing under our own license and making the practice climate (laws) some of the best in the United States. We are represented at the Wyoming Board of Medicine and Wyoming Medical Society. We need YOUR support to continue these liaisons and build more.
We as Physician Assistants need to be visible in our communities, counties and the state. Not just as health care providers, but as educators, leaders and volunteers for our communities. Each PA is a very special citizen of Wyoming.
I envision the following for WAPA during my term:
- continue a strong role in the health care of Wyoming
- ensure the future practice of PAs in Wyoming
- become a focus for precepting PA students in the state
- continue to be educated on state and national legislation affecting the PAS
- continue with education of reimbursement and health care changes
- continue the Summer CME and incorporate smaller CMES by web site or local meetings
- hear from all members regarding suggestions and concerns about WAPA and reply to any and all questions, concerns and suggestions
- become an organization that most Physician Assistants practicing in Wyoming will want to join
Thank you,
Charla WG Bright
