MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Greetings
Our conference with the Wyoming
Medical Society this year was very informative, however, we would like to see
our attendance grow. Based on the
success we plan on doing this every three years.
The next WAPA conference is being held in Casper July 2010. so keep your
eye on the website (wapa.net) to stay informed
on all future dates and locations.
One of my main goals as acting
president is to increase membership into the WAPA.
I am strategizing ways to attract new members and recognize our efforts
and contributions to the medical community.
Keep your eyes peeled for future initiatives and idea’s and don’t
hesitate to send me any ideas or suggestions you may have.
PA week is October 6th-12th,
2009. Dave Fruedenthal will issue a
proclamation regarding his encouragement for our profession.
In addition all PA’s should think of ways we can advertise ourselves to
the medical and local communities.
The WAPA scholarship currently
flies under the radar and we need to make sure that it is available for all PA
students from Wyoming. This is a
great opportunity to help increase our PA membership across the state and also
attract hard working future PA’s.
Lastly we need items to put in the
newsletter. Feel free to send in
any pictures, articles, etc to Maria Cowley at mcowley@wyomed.org.
Please join me in applauding Ed Dowie who has put together wonderful
newsletters in the past.
Thank you for all of your support. If you have any ideas or suggestions please feel free to
share those with the WAPA board, CME committee or myself. Your hard work does not go unnoticed and we appreciate
everyone working so hard to promote the WAPA.
Sincerely,
